{"id":1978,"date":"2007-03-02T00:01:00","date_gmt":"2007-03-02T08:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jasonbot.com\/?p=1978"},"modified":"2007-03-02T00:01:00","modified_gmt":"2007-03-02T08:01:00","slug":"character-of-the-week-headhunter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbot.com\/?p=1978","title":{"rendered":"Character of the Week: Headhunter!"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"left\">Just a quick note to those who have written comments: thank you very much for taking the time to leave me feedback&#8211;I do respond to most of the comments, but sometimes it takes me a few days&#8211;so if you wrote up a detailed critique, made an obscure reference to a <em>Disney Afternoon<\/em> cartoon, typed something in Mandarin, asked for a book recommendation, just dropped by to say &#8220;hi,&#8221; etcetera, please check the comments for my responses.<\/p>\n<p>For this week&#8217;s challenge over there at <a href=\"http:\/\/characterclass.blogspot.com\/\">Rick&#8217;s character design blog<\/a>, a headhunter:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbot.com\/bootlegsketch\/headhunterweb.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"WIDTH: 400px; CURSOR: hand\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbot.com\/bootlegsketch\/headhunterweb.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-size:78%;\">click above for larger view<\/span><\/div>\n<p>I&#8217;m happy with how this turned out&#8230; am I too self-congratulatory on this blog? Should there be more &#8220;artistic&#8221; self-loathing? Rest assured, dear readers, I am merely putting on a brave front for you. This <em>bravado<\/em>, this <em>devil-may-care<\/em> attitude, this <em>John Wayne<\/em>-like swagger&#8211;an <em>act<\/em>, all of it. Inside, I am suffering like the most neurotic of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nebbish\">nebbishes<\/a>&#8230; But nevertheless, I&#8217;m pretty happy with how this turned out. There are some problems with perspective (which is sadly standard for me) but I set out to do something with a bit more action and to mix it up with the colors, and I think I accomplished those goals.
