{"id":2163,"date":"2008-10-06T23:01:00","date_gmt":"2008-10-07T06:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jasonbot.com\/?p=2163"},"modified":"2008-10-06T23:01:00","modified_gmt":"2008-10-07T06:01:00","slug":"going-green-part-4-of-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbot.com\/?p=2163","title":{"rendered":"Going Green (Part 4 of 4)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"left\">When I was kicking around this impossible-in-reality idea for the Green Lantern Corps, the idea of using alien species from non-DC Universe franchises, was really just for flavor&#8211;I had some actual plot ideas as well. The biggest plot point was that <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sinestro\">Sinestro<\/a> would be reinstated into the Green Lantern Corps (as he had been during the events of <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Emerald_Twilight\"><i>Emerald Twilight<\/i><\/a>). The key to this idea was that it wasn&#8217;t a short term turn of events to be quickly undone, rather it would be the new status quo&#8211;whatever his intentions, Sinestro would have been working with the good guys for an extended period of time:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbot.com\/bootlegsketch\/GL4web.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbot.com\/bootlegsketch\/GL4web.jpg\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div align=\"center\"><span style=\"font-size:78%;\">click above for larger view<\/span><\/div>\n<p>Believe it or not, I drew this sketch some time ago, long before the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Green_Lantern:_Rebirth\"><i>Rebirth<\/i><\/a> storyline&#8211;so the resemblance to Sinestro&#8217;s current uniform is actually just a coincidence. Of course, as a result of the aforementioned <i>Rebirth<\/i> storyline, it would be difficult (if not impossible) to write a credible story rehabilitating Sinestro in any way, shape, or form. I&#8217;m okay with that, because not only do I dig Sinestro&#8217;s current uniform (<a href=\"http:\/\/bootlegsketch.blogspot.com\/2007\/12\/yellow-bellied-villain.html\">I even drew it once&#8230; sort of<\/a>), I think the storyline of the Green Lantern(s) has been hitting all the right notes in recent years.
