{"id":3668,"date":"2016-10-01T01:36:06","date_gmt":"2016-10-01T08:36:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jasonbot.com\/?p=3668"},"modified":"2016-10-01T01:36:06","modified_gmt":"2016-10-01T08:36:06","slug":"gl-of-earth-616","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/jasonbot.com\/?p=3668","title":{"rendered":"GL of Earth-616"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was thinking about <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Simon_Baz\">Simon Baz<\/a> and the idea of Green Lanterns + guns, then I was thinking of the traditional Green Lantern Corps uniform with white gloves and what other characters wear white gloves and then this happened:<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbot.com\/bootlegsketch\/GLof616web.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 640px; cursor: hand;\" src=\"http:\/\/www.jasonbot.com\/bootlegsketch\/GLof616web.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<br \/>\nNotes:<br \/>\n &#8211; RE: the ring-construct weapons&#8230; I dug up photo reference of various weapons at angles that would work for what I had in mind, arranged them fanning out in a somewhat wing-shaped collage (I bit that idea from one of <a href=\"http:\/\/s11.photobucket.com\/user\/ohsnapsucka\/media\/expendables-poster_zpswv9wnml0.jpg.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Expendables movie posters<\/a>), then I did a simplified sketchy trace-over.<br \/>\n &#8211; The costume is basically an inverted Hal Jordan\/GLC uniform mashed-up with Frank Castle&#8217;s traditional Punisher costume.<br \/>\n &#8211; I guess I shouldn&#8217;t be surprised that after drawing Green Lantern characters for two weeks I randomly felt compelled to draw a super nerdy crossover. This isn&#8217;t the first time I&#8217;ve drawn an unlikely Green Lantern mash-up!
